Case Update

I finished initial legwork on the runaway case and came back to check in Thursday. It seems the boy took the train from NYC to Richmond, VA. From there, it was more difficult to find his trail, such as it was. I believe he met with someone from the internet in Richmond and then, together, they moved on to Virginia Beach and then on to Florida. I lost them there. Given his age (18), the fact that there were no signs of distress apparent to anyone who saw him, and the fact that the person he met in Richmond was a young woman, I cannot justify pursuing the boy beyond American borders.

The cruise the young people went on was for Jamaica and then farther through parts of South America.

I will meet with the parents tomorrow to make sure they know what is apparently going on.

International would cost them way more just for the hassle. Most parents wouldn't be willing to pay the fee and I think there is a disclosure in our initial paperwork they sign to hire us on that says we will not go beyond American borders without consulting the client, thus your ass is covered there. If not, uh...I will get it added in asap.

You have to have some serious issues with letting your kid out of the nest to pay us that much money to play babysitter incognito basically.

Columbia is a university, love. Colombia is a country. I actually don't mind Colombia. I've worked there a fair bit in my previous life. If we really need someone to follow him there I can do it.
