X-Factor Investigations

And the hunt for the abducted kid continues. I'm in town long enough to check my messages, remember what my bed looks like, do laundry and repack. Keep holding down the fort, I'll keep checking in with you guys at least once a week. I'm off to Vancouver this time. These people are going to be broke and still not have their kid by the end of this but they want me to keep chasing leads so you know how it is. Odds that I end up in a Mexican prison by the end of this? It would be a great story, right? Yeeeah, that's what I think too. I'll try to stay out of any Canadian prisons while I'm up there.

We've got a friend of Charles' with his kids missing. Since he's part of the Xavier's extended family and they just went missing we need to get on it quickly.

Adrienne, you're going with Lucas to see if you two can find anyone still at Storm's offices who knows anything about Arthur Molekevic or who might have a grudge against Storm.

Callisto will come with me to see if there's anyone on the streets near the school where they disappeared who saw anything.

So, one Jumbo Carnation (why, yes, he claims that is his legal name, why do you ask?) has come in looking to hire us in a security capacity.

He is throwing three parties for the holidays. The first is on the 21st, the second on the 23rd and the third on New Year's Eve. He's apparently pretty high profile (he's a fashion designer of some sort? Where is Adrienne when I need to know these things?) and is worried someone may decide that his party is worth targeting to take out some mutants and make a statement by some anti-mutant hatemonger. As such, he wants mutant security to work his parties.

I'm sure you guys have plans for at least part of the holidays but if you can/will work any of the parties let me know. I've already begun calling around the other security agencies to see if they have anyone they can recommend so I can get up a crew of about six in total, including us. Oddly enough, Fred Duke's name came up so I'm going to head over to the mansion to see if he's interested in taking the job.

I am caught up on cases, I have fixed the errors and omissions in reports and Jean-Paul is fixing the filing (which is great as my brain may have exploded if I attempted to continue that undertaking). Which means I am twitchy and restless and am not likely to continue to be bound to the office.

Lucas, if you're worried you can come with me but you're certainly not keeping me inside any longer. If anyone needs me I'm running out to meet with a woman who apparently can't come into the office lest she be discovered. I'm not sure what's going on but I'll let you guys know if it turns out I need help. Should just be a meeting for now, though.

I'll let you guys know if anyone contacts me privately about the office wench position.

Maybe not every man's... I've managed to land myself security detail at a strip club that's getting hassled by some idiots. Funnily enough, it's called Private Eyes. Maybe that's just amusing to me. Anyway, it's up on W 45th and I will be totally gone while doing this for them. I don't know how long I'll be on the job for. I'll be there for all their open hours so noon - 4 am Mon-Fri and 8 pm - 4 am Saturday. At least I can sleep on the weekends, right?

I hate when you find them in the morgue.

Jean-Paul and I found my missing girl in a morgue up in northern Maine today. We handed the cops everything we had on the stalker along with her identity. They're going to pull the dental records to confirm and give me a call. We convinced them to let me tell the parents.

I'll be back in town some time tomorrow and I'll meet up with her parents at their soonest convenience once I am. Then? There will be drinking. Possibly a lot of it.

See you guys when I get back. (Jean-Paul will be back some time tonight. He's flying back, but I'm crashing here for the night and then driving back early in the morning.)

Whoever talked to the von Stratton's and left that case for me? You suck. You suck big time. I spent hours in a vet office watching some prize winning poodle get dissected so I could tell those people that their dog died of stomach torsion, not Mrs. von Stratton poisoning the dog.

Seriously, disappearing for two days was so not worth that pain. I nearly socked them both to shut them up.

Bishop is off doing...something. Possibly with members of the NYPD. I'm fairly sure it's something resembling lunch. I could be entirely wrong about all of that, though. Anyway, he wanted me to pass some info onto the rest of you.

1. Lykos was detained by SHIELD, as we all know. He's been taken to a facility of theirs referred to as The Vault. It is a big, scary name for a big, scary prison full of dangerous mutants. Hopefully that will be enough to keep him and we won't find him out terrorizing anyone again. He did confess to draining all of our missing people but we don't know where any of the bodies are other than the two that have just turned up.

2. SHIELD will be continuing interrogation of Lykos in an effort to find the missing bodies so they can be returned to their families for proper burial.

3. Calvin Hobbes (Seriously? Is that really his name?) has sent his immense gratitude our way. Along with a a lot of lollipops.

4. The families of the other missing people have all been contacted or visited. They're also incredibly grateful and wanted their thanks passed on. Some of them are insisting on paying us for the investigation. One woman told me that while Calvin may have paid for us to investigate she felt the need to pay us for investigating specifically her husband's case and finding out the truth when the cops didn't. I'm not sure how to say no without hurting her feelings so we'll be getting extra money for the case.

5. I know some of you took sort of a beating, even if it was just from Lyko's life drain powers thing. I've got the office covered and I'll call if I need anyone's help on anything. Otherwise, Bishop, Jean-Paul and Laura I don't want to see any of you in this office before Wednesday at the earliest, alright?

Kayla Gold, Rashid White and Hailey Martin don't overlap at all. They don't work together, hang out with the same people or even fit into the same socioeconomic brackets. I talked to their friends and family but they can't think of anyone who might want hurt or kidnap them.

I do have the surveillance footage from all of their last known locations, however.

Laura and I found a safe house and we hear it's Porter's but we don't have much other than hearsay that it is. For now we're going to take shifts to sit on it and watch it, photograph everyone who comes and goes and all that. I'll let Doug know.
